BROTHER SPOTLIGHT BLOG:
Aidan McGaughy
I joined Delta Sigma Pi my first semester of sophomore year, and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made! There are so many driven and caring brothers who are so willing to do anything they can to help their brothers succeed. Seeing brothers around campus always brightens my day. I have loved getting involved in the chapter and have been on five committees: Marketing, Technology & Innovation, Pledge Education, Recruitment, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. It has been so rewarding to have experience with so many different facets of the chapter.
I was fortunate enough to attend two Sophomore Summit-style programs this previous summer while working part-time at Target. I was a Sophomore Summit Partner with Abercrombie & Fitch and a Technology Consultant in RSM Consulting’s Pathways Program. I learned so much and had fantastic experiences with both programs, and I am excited to work in Minneapolis as a Consumer and Industrial Products Consulting Intern with West Monroe this summer.
I am also the President of the Business Student Advisory Council (BSAC) on campus. My main role is guiding the direction of our organization and business school by leading projects, initiatives, the executive team, and planning events. Our executive team works closely with Dean Darroch and her team to ensure that our business school is constantly improving and allowing students to get the most out of their college experiences. While leading the executive team as President and also while serving as the Vice President of Marketing last year, I have had countless opportunities to not only advocate for students and help improve the Farmer School of Business, but also BSAC is a tremendous opportunity to give back to the Oxford community.
I have so many brothers to thank for helping enhance my college experience. So many brothers have been formal or informal mentors. Whether they helped me prepare for interviews, polish my resume, or even shared their professional experiences with me, they have been crucial in helping me get to where I am today. Being surrounded by so many motivated, intelligent business students has been incredibly motivating. Many of my brothers have worked hard to live out their dreams. In Delta Sigma Pi, I have found mentors and lifelong friends who I am incredibly grateful to call my brothers.
